CEO of Trainingphase
Why did you choose your profession?
After being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (Asperger’s Syndrome) late in my career was a defining moment that changed my life. As a result, I became a certified neurodiversity professional and self-advocate, and my company, Trainingphase, provides consulting services to help organizations improve their talent management process by attracting and increasing the tenure of current and future neurodivergent employees.
What’s your favorite part about what you do?
My favorite part is educating others on the importance of neurodiversity in the workplace and understanding the behaviors of current or future neurodivergent employees
How has your IBCCES training/credential helped you in your career?
Wow! Obtaining my credentials have pushed my company even further, I have developed meaningful professional relations with advocates in the autistic community, in addition, requests to collaborate with other professional and organizations to bring awareness about others such as myself and how to embrace our differences in the workplace. And just when I thought no one was paying attention to my passion and purpose, I have been selected for the Top 100 Visionaries In Education award presented by the Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL).
How do you use/implement what you learned in the IBCCES certification training?
I implement what I learned in my certification by conducting Lunch & Learn sessions along with consulting with HR Leaders and Professionals who are looking to implement best practices in their organization’s Diversity & Inclusion process. |
