BCCS Eligibility Requirements
- Master’s Degree:
Applicants must have earned a Master’s degree in special education, education, educational psychology, psychology, human development, early childhood education, speech/language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, or closely related field. A professional not holding a license number or teaching certification number are required to upload their college transcripts. If you don’t have your Master’s degree, you may qualify for the Certified Cognitive Coach. The Master’s degree requirement will be waived if the applicant has a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience. - Two Years Experience:
Applicants must have two years’ experience working in a field that treats or supports individuals with cognitive disorders. - 14 CE hours:
Applicants must have earned 14 hours of continuing education that directly relate to cognitive disorders within the last two years. These CEs can be earned through IBCCES University as part of the BCCS application process. If you have already completed 14 hours of continuing education within the last 2 years, check here to make sure the hours can be applied toward your BCCS. - Competency Exam:
Applicants must pass the BCCS Competency Exam. The exam is taken online and is included in the price of your BCCS application. - Registry Fee: $595
Renewal Requirements:
- Renewal fee: $295.00 every two years – without training, or $346 every two years – if you would like to complete our training
- 14 Additional (CEU) in related area
- Maintain active status as a BCCS and Compliance with Code of Ethics
