Stephanie M.
Certified Autism Specialist, Occupational Therapist
What’s your favorite part about what you do?
I have a deep passion for my role as an occupational therapist, where I have the privilege of assisting autistic children and others with special needs in enhancing their quality of life. I particularly enjoy the creative aspect of using play therapy to aid my clients in developing their skills. This skill improvement, in turn, fosters increased self-esteem and confidence. Witnessing these positive changes in my clients is an incredibly rewarding and priceless experience.
How has your IBCCES training/credential helped you in your career?
My IBCCES credential has granted me credibility among my colleagues and families, establishing me as an educated and trained professional capable of working with autistic children. Furthermore, it has allowed me to assist fellow therapists in helping children manage and improve their self-regulation, all while minimizing tantrums and meltdowns.
