Aventura Parks is the first ropes adventure park to become a Certified Autism Center™(CAC) in the Middle East. The CAC designation, granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), requires guest-facing staff complete training and certification and an onsite review by IBCCES that will allow Aventura Parks to provide guests with sensory guides, pre-travel planning tools, and other resources to ensure their visit is a success.

Sesame Place San Diego Becomes the First Theme Park in San Diego to Open as a Certified Autism Center™

Sesame Place® San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, is now the first theme park in San Diego to open as a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC). The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) grants the CAC designation to organizations that complete staff-wide training and certification. Sesame Place San Diego also underwent an on-site review by IBCCES to provide additional insights and recommendations to enhance accessibility, including creating sensory guides for rides and attractions.

The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) continues partnership with the GRAMMY Museum to hold the Certified Autism Center designation and enhance accessibility. The Museum has renewed its commitment to meeting the Certified Autism Center™ standards since becoming certified in 2020. This designation is granted by IBCCES and requires staff to complete a training and certification program to better understand and welcome autistic guests and their families.
